    eBay | Design Lead/Design Manager

    As a design lead, I managed a team of designers: mentored, trained, gave art direction, and reviewed their work. I was a strong liaison between outside agencies and eBay, ensuring the work was on brand and in alignment with the in-house creative work. I built and fostered good relationships with cross-functional teams, peers and executive leadership.

    As the design lead over all seller creative (half of the business), I dramatically improved the processes and quality of work by educating the marketing team, working closely with various outside agencies and in-house departments, reviewing the creative work, and translating goals and feedback. I also managed a team of designers.

    As the design lead for eBay Bucks (company loyalty program), my team and I refreshed the look/feel/voice to make the on-site assets and emails feel more modern, inviting and relevant to eBay Bucks members. I streamlined the processes in place, and created a style guide, training documents and templates.

    As design manager, I was responsible for reviewing all of the high visibility assets, such as home page banners and placements, emails and other high-level communications to the customer. I worked closely with an outside agency that was embedded at eBay.

    Responsible for all user interface (UI) and web design for multiple websites,
    including: Stortrack.com, ForecastThis.com, LendingLens.com, Firestartertech.com,
    RetailSalesConnect.com and many more.

    Developed advanced dashboards from conception through wire-frame to PSD files with some coding. Created logos, landing pages, emails and more.

    Managed graphic and front-end designers; worked closely with development team, CEO, CTO; project and product managers to ensure project goals and project completion.

    Responsible for all aspects of marketing design for 14 high-tech magazines, websites and tradeshows individually and collectively. A partial list includes these titles: Dr. Dobb’s Journal, ddj.com, SD West Conference & Expo, Software Development Best Practices Conference & Expo, and Dr. Dobb’s Architecture & Design World Conference & Expo.

    Produced marketing collateral, websites, emails, media kits, direct-mail, print ads, posters, tradeshow catalogs and show guides, CD-ROM packaging and conference signage. Responsible for print buying, hiring specialty vendors, and going on press checks.
